To quickly search for a customer, license, or invoice in SOLO, simply hover over Search on the main menu or navigate to the home page. Enter search parameters in the form on the menu or in the Quick Search section on the home page and click Search. For more advanced searches, click the Advanced button or the search icon in the menu. This will take you to a search page where you have the option of several search types as outlined below. Also note that Global and Master Users search Globally by default. Uncheck the Global Search checkbox to only search the selected author's records. Finally, the result listing will be limited to the first 100 matching records.
The searches are as follows
Customer Details Search
Enter any customer details to search on in the fields to search by customer contact details.
This search type also has the option of exporting the data to a csv file using the Export button. When exporting, the limit of 100 records is not enforced.
Quick Search
To perform a quick search, simply enter a number in one of the fields and click Submit.
Customer ID
License ID
Invoice Number
Installation ID
Note that these fields are checked in order, if you enter a CustomerID and a LicenseID, the LicenseID search will not be performed.
License Details Search
Enter the license serial number or the value of one of the user defined fields to search by license details.
Invoice Details Search
Enter either the credit card number, the Transaction ID, or the User PO Number to search by transaction details.
Note that by default all stored credit card numbers are permanently masked in the database after a period of 6 months so that all but the first digit and last 5 digits are replaced with "*" characters. To search on a card number that has been masked, simply replace all but the first digit and last 5 digits in the search field with "*" characters.
IP Address Search
If an IP address is entered here, the system will search customers, invoices, declined orders, activations, post counters, post strings, and audit logs for the given IP address. To search for a partial IP address you can use % as a wildcard character - an example would be 10.10.0.%
Wildcard Searches
All text fields in the search will automatically have their values wrapped with wildcard characters on either end of the value, allowing the query to search for similar records instead of just exact matches. You can override this functionality to only allow a wildcard character on the right or left of the string by simply entering your own wildcard character to the string. SOLO uses the % character as the wild card character.
Viewing Search Results
With the exception of Absolute Searches, you will be taken to a screen that lists one or more customer, license, or invoice records that match the criteria. Click the CustomerID to view the customer record, the LicenseID to view the license, or the Invoice No to view the invoice . You can also sort the results by any column by simply clicking the column header label. The column that the data is currently sorted for will have an arrow in it pointing in the sort direction.
